Vive Le Fringe
Life Poster Brief
Overview
For a live brief with the French Institute, I created an eye-catching poster and visual identity to be used throughout the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The concept needed to subtly reference France, so I developed a playful illustration of a cat dressed as a French clown, using character and humour to signal performance and draw in the general public.
The colour palette was built around pink, white, and black, with an alternative blue variation introduced to subtly give the colours of the French flag. Expanding beyond the poster, I applied the visual identity across a range of promotional materials, including stickers, T-shirts, and a brochure for events and performers, ensuring a cohesive and recognisable campaign.
Poster Submission
These are the two posters I submitted for the live brief.
Although my final design wasn’t selected as the main poster, it was a rewarding experience to have my work chosen for display alongside others within the institute’s building during the festival.
